CELEBRATION OF DANIEL’S LIFE SERVICE will be at 1:30pm Saturday July 23, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Oblong, IL. Burial will follow in the Oblong Cemetery.
VISITATION: will be from 11:30am to 1:30pm Saturday July 23, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Oblong, IL. The Family request for those attending the visitation and service to please dress casual or wear you favorite St. Louis Cardinal Attire.

Daniel Joe “Dan” Houdasheldt , 61, of Oblong, IL went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
Dan was born on June 23, 1955 in Oblong, IL and was the son of Donald and Rose Houdasheldt. On September 16, 2000 he married Dana Kay Bailey who survives.
Dan worked at Pioneer Labels/Data Max for several years as a machine operator. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oblong, Oblong Class of 1973 and Robinson Jaycee’s. Dan was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals, U of I Athletics and NASCAR especially driver’s Dale Earnhardt Sr. & Jr.
Dan is survived by his wife Dana Houdasheldt, Oblong, IL; mother Rose Houdasheldt, Oblong, IL; one son Josh Houdasheldt and companion Wesley Veach, Oblong, IL; one daughter and son-in-law Mandy and Daniel Enriquez, St. Louis, MO; Uncle and Aunt Mark and Donna Jacobs, Oblong, IL; Cousin Troy Jacobs, Robinson, IL; Nieces and Nephews; Hannah and JB Holmes, Robinson, IL, Bethany and DJ Davis, Oblong, IL, Bailey Reel, Morgan Tromley, Triston Tromley, Sydney Hunter, Jaclyn Hunter, Blake Mincey, Alexis Bailey, Jaxson Bailey all of Vincennes, IN; Great Nieces Madelyn Davis, Oblong, IL, Lilian Graves, Vincennes, IN; Three sister-in-laws Kelly and Duane Hunter, Vincennes, IN, Julie Bailey, Vincennes, IN, Diane Houdasheldt, Oblong, IL; Three brother-in-laws Jack Bailey, Vincennes, IN, Mike Bailey, Kansas City, MO, Chris and Tiffanie Bailey, Vincennes, IN; Father and Mother-in-law Jack and Diane Bailey, Vincennes, IN.
Preceding Dan in death were his Father, Brother Rick Houdasheldt and cousin Todd Jacobs.
